Sensex ends at fresh lifetime high of 56,889 points

Equity benchmark Sensex rallied over 765 points to finish above the 56,000-mark for the first time on Monday. After touching a record high of 56,527.81 during the day, the 30-share BSE index ended 765.04 points up at 56,889.76.
